Overview

Understanding the role and practices of ethics is essential for business professionals. This e-learning course will reference the new Code of Ethics (CoE) of Chartered Accountants accountants and provide frameworks to address real life situations faced by accountants and other business professionals.

The highest standards of ethics are essential in today’s business environment. Our experienced members of PwC’s Ethics and Business Conduct Committee have worked together to deliver the contents of this course.

On completion of this e-learning, you will be able to:

Module 1

  • Understand and recognise the importance of ethics.

  • Identify your ethical style.

Module 2

  • Understand the Code of Ethics for Chartered Accountants.

  • Understand the 5 fundamental principles of the Code.

  • Apply the conceptual framework to identify, evaluate and address threats.

Module 3

  • Recognise the 5 key threats that the Code identifies.

  • Apply available safeguards to eliminate threats or reduce them to an acceptable level.

  • Understand how conflict of interest can creates a threat.

  • Aware of your responsibility to resolve a conflict in complying with the fundamental principles.

Module 4

  • Understand what the Code has to say about:

  • Professional appointments.

  • Fee and employment remuneration arrangements.

  • Marketing and gifts.

  • Apply the 5 step approach for dealing with ethical conflicts.

  • Identify 8 social media mistakes.

This curriculum takes approximately 4 hours to complete in total and as such, it can provide 4 learning hours – 4 CPD points based on a 50-minute hour. Upon completion of this curriculum, you can print the certificate of completion as an evidence that you undertook the training.
