The Competency Centre’s purpose is to support our audit practice and clients with activities of testing balance sheet positions that do not have to be carried out on-site at the customer’s premises. In this way, we increase the quality and efficiency of audit-related project work for our national and international clients.

Job Description 

As a process expert at the Competency Centre, you will support the core audit team by performing specific audit tasks remotely. Our clients are often well-known brands and many have a wide international reach. We focus on using the latest technology to reduce the level of manual testing by ensuring that you focus on the most valuable areas of customer service and on improving the corporate governance and reliability of our customer information. 

What you will do: 

  • Participate remotely in actual audit projects under the supervision of professional auditors; 
  • Test supporting documents and identify risks; 
  • Prepare information for colleagues involved in audit processes (support for staff who communicate directly with clients)

What we are looking for: 

  • People with initial knowledge or experience in the field of accounting / economics
  • Analytical skills and logical thinking; 
  • Good communication skills and willingness to work in a team; 
  • Basic knowledge of English language; 
  • Basic knowledge of computer work, knowledge of MS Excel is an advantage.

What is PwC’s Competence Centre?

The Competency Centre in Zagreb was organised by the PwC Croatia office within our audit practice to improve audit transformation. Our goal is to support our practice and clients in audit activities that do not have to be conducted on site in the client's offices.

Where is PwC’s Competence Centre located?

The Competence Centre is located in our office at Heinzelova 70, Zagreb.

How many people are working at PwC’s Competence Centre?

A team of 6 people works at the PwC Competence Centre.

What is the busiest period during the week and how many hours are worked in that period?

As for most Croatian companies the end of the financial year is 31 December, our season usually falls in the first quarter of each year. Once our clients’ books are closed, our auditors begin work on preparing and preparing financial statements. During this time, extended hours are expected, according to the business needs.

How should I dress at work?

Our office dress code is business casual. We believe that you will decide for yourself what is appropriate for the best presentation of yourself and the PwC brand.

Do I need to travel a lot?

No, travel is usually not necessary, because you can do all your work in our Competency centre in Zagreb. However, if sometimes a meeting with a client is held in his office or an inventory is required, the cost of the travel order will be reimbursed.
