PwC Croatia hosts "Solvency II – Let's get practical“ seminar

PwC Croatia hosted a seminar called "Solvency II – Let's get practical“ which took place on Thursday, 9 December 2010 at the The Regent Esplanade Zagreb hotel.

This seminar was intended for senior managers and employees who are directly or indirectly included in the application of Solvency II within their organisations.

Seminar tried to present attitudes of the sector, and experience with practical application of Solvency II directive and its commercial implications. The intention was to give to the participants an overview of the experience the organisations had with the application, practical advices about planning the application, and an overview of the actual process.

All speakers are directly involved in various aspects of Solvency II. They shared with the participants their experience and opinions about future challenges, which they gained by working within the European insurance sector. The speakers were Elisabetta Russo, leader of actuarial and Solvency II services for the CEE region, Mariusz Spiewak, director in risk management group in PwC Warsaw, Csaba Varga, director in PwC Budapest, responsible for governance, risk and compliance services in the financial sector. We also invited Jima Gustafssona, a collage from PwC Denmark who shared with the participants his experience in conducting over 40 Quantitative Impact Studies (QIS) and developing of internal capital models. A Slovenian regulator also participated in the seminar.

The participants also had the opportunity to meet the representatives of PwC after the seminar and talk to them in person.

 

"Going to an IPO“ Conference organised by PwC Croatia, InterCapital and Savorić&Partners

On 8 December 2010, PwC Croatia, InterCapital Securities investment company and Savorić&Partners attorneys at law, in cooperation with the Zagreb, Warsaw and Vienna Stock Exchange, organised a conference entitled "Going to an IPO" at the Regent Esplanade Zagreb hotel.

The main goal of the conference was to familiarise the participants with the initial public offering (IPO), which includes preparation of the company for an IPO, IPO process and post-IPO operation, from a legal, tax, financial and market standpoint. The conference dealt in detail with challenges the companies face in preparing to being listed, including the details on prerequisites for listing, writing a prospectus, duration of the entire process, cost as well as possible structuring and marketing of the offering.

The conference brought together representatives of Croatian companies, of Zagreb, Warsaw and Vienna Stock Exchange, including PwC Croatia, InterCapital Securities and Savorić&Partners. The conference also gave the participants the opportunity to find out first hand the experience of an IPO from Atlantic Group.
